Mission of Innocents Charity Opens Cultural Arts Centre in Edinburgh

Mission of Innocents, a registered charity in Scotland, officially opened its new Cultural Arts Centre at Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh on March 5th, marking an important milestone for the organisation.

The new centre provides a dedicated, safe and welcoming space where resettled children and families can come together, take part in creative activities, and build confidence and connection through shared experiences.

The Cultural Arts Centre will host a range of programmes focused on dance, music, and visual arts. These activities are designed to support wellbeing, encourage self-expression, and help children and families feel more settled and connected within their communities.

With a permanent base in Scotland, Mission of Innocents is now able to expand its delivery within the third sector, offering regular, free sessions throughout the week and providing longer-term support to those taking part.

Opening Event

The opening was marked by a special evening attended by Depute Lord Provost Lezley Marion Cameron, members of the High Constables of Leith, the Consular Corps, and longstanding supporters of the charity.

Guests also heard a speech from Ukrainian Consul Andrii Madzianovskyi. The event included a series of performances from those involved in Mission of Innocents’ programmes, showcasing creativity, confidence and progress developed through their participation.

The opening of the Cultural Arts Centre represents an important step forward for Mission of Innocents. The space will enable the organisation to grow its programmes, reach more families, and continue delivering consistent, supportive opportunities for children and young people.

Mission of Innocents looks forward to welcoming participants, partners and the wider community into the new space in the months ahead.
